Bald Eagle Tracking Project - Weeks 51 and 52

One immature bald eagle was in Maryland, while the other two were in Virginia this week. Red moved along the Chesapeake Bay shoreline of Kent County. Green started the week in the Colonial Beach area of Virginia along the Potomac River. She then moved down the shoreline to the Stratford Hall area and spent most of the week there.

Yellow was also along the Virginia shoreline of the Potomac River. He started the week in the Colonial Beach are, then moved upriver to the vicinity of Caledon. Caledon is a major concentration area for immature eagles. The preceeding text was provided by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

Please visit our Eagle Map Gallery to see other maps of the eagle movements. The gallery contains maps of the eagle movements plotted on shaded relief maps that show local topography as well as eagle movements shown on a satellite image of the bay region which illustrates the types of landcover the eagles are living near.
