Bald Eagle Tracking Project - Week 4

There was not much movement by the immature eagles during week #4. Blue is still in southern New Jersey. Red has moved back and forth between Aberdeen Proving Ground and Cecil County at the head of the Chesapeake Bay, ending the week at Aberdeen. She did the same thing last week. Green is still in Calvert County, while Yellow is in Charles County along the Potomac River north of the Route 301 bridge.

During periods of hot weather, eagle movements are usually confined to the morning and evening hours. The preceeding text was provided by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

NEW!! Please visit our Eagle Map Gallery to see other maps of the eagle movements. The gallery contains maps of the eagle movements plotted on shaded relief maps that show local topography as well as eagle movements shown on a satellite image of the bay region which illustrates the types of landcover the eagles are living near.

This map was updated on 6/25.
With each update, new locations may not be available for each of the four birds. To conserve battery power and reduce satellite communications costs the transmitters are not on continuously.
