Bald Eagle Tracking Project - Week 2

During week #2 of satellite tracking the immature eagles continued to move around the Chesapeake Bay area. Blue spent most of the week at Aberdeen Proving Ground, where one of Maryland's largest concentrations of non-breeding bald eagles occurs. At the end of the week she moved east to the Delaware River in southern New Jersey. Red returned from New Jersey, where she was found at the end of week #1.

Red spent the second week moving around Cecil County. Green stayed in Calvert County all week. Yellow started the week on the Eastern Shore along the Wye River. He then moved south to Dorchester County. Two days later, Yellow moved across the Bay to southern Calvert County and kept moving east to the Wicomico River in St. Mary's County. This eagle exhibited the most daily movement of any of the four immature birds this week.
