Bald Eagle Tracking Project - October 2003

Red spent most of October along the Pamlico River in North Carolina. But by the end of the month Red was where she spent most of last winter, just north of Cape Canaveral in Florida. Green spent most of October along the cliffs of Calvert County MD, and along the Patuxent river also in Calvert County, the same area in which Red stayed in September. Green made a trip to the eastern shore again this month as she had in the previous month.

Yellow spent the month on Lake Gaston and John H. Kerr Reservoir in northern NC, where it had spent most of the previous three months.

Please visit our Eagle Map Gallery to see other maps of the eagle movements. The gallery contains maps of the eagle movements plotted on shaded relief maps that show local topography as well as eagle movements shown on a satellite image of the bay region which illustrates the types of landcover the eagles are living near.

With each update, new locations may not be available for each of the birds. To conserve battery power and reduce satellite communications costs the transmitters are not on continuously.
